Thorn 30mm Low Profile Heavy Duty Scope Rings - Picatinny Rail Mount Pair for Precision Optics

It's made in China. However, seems like production quality has improved & materials used are better than the last time i checked Chinese made rings (about 25 years ago). Compared to Leupold made Mark IV or MWG rings that I used to use, these rings are closely comparable in workmanship, finish & durability. No machine marks & matte black finish is nice. Aircraft grade aluminum has good weight & Hex screws are used for tactical purposes. Although its not made of steel as American made ones are, I think it will survive harsh conditions & relatively rough use. Will not add much weight to a 30mm tube scope & light barreled rifle setup for hunting/field use.

I just installed these rings, so can't really give a long-term review. First impressions: these rings are beefy! QC is definitely top notch. Much better than some of the budget stuff I have had before. Even finish, everything aligned, no visible burrs, no scratches or worn off finish. Everything lined up perfectly after scope install. Just be careful with the threads and use threadlocker - threaded screws MAY be soft. I never overtighten - which is EASY to do with the 12mm socket/wrench you would use with these.

These look really nice. They’re heavy and very solid. I did not have an issue with stripping or anything. The only problem is that the screws don’t stay tight. Even dry firing seems to wiggle stuff lose. However, if you have some loctite, it all stays put just fine.

These work well and are much less expensive than most others.

These rings are good for cheap rings, remember to add some orange locktight and torque to about 15-20 inch pounds and the screws won't back out. You don't need to get the screws super tight, that will just cause issues like overtightened anything will. I put 80 rounds through a .308 and never had an issue.

Ok, they aren't $300 scope rings, but they are well made, and solid. 6 screws per ring hold the scope in, they clamped tight and threads were fine, etc. They went on a scout scope setup with an AIM scout scope, and there is about .003" clearance between the rail and the eyepiece but that's what I needed. If you're worried about lapping rings, you should probably go buy Nightforce rings. I'd order them again.

Appears very sturdy but line up of top cap screws was not perfect but did work. We will see after tomorrow’s shoot
