This is one of those things that you don't use too often but it is great when you need it. This version of the product is much better and less costly than all plastic versions.

Wow! I’ve been hearing about these things for a while and wonder as the ad says why it took me so long.? Who doesn’t deal with hot plates and especially since I had my stroke it’s difficult to manage. I am 75 years of age plus suffered a stroke, but I want to tell you it is not just for people like me. This thing works like a charm I could’ve used it years ago. A+.

UPDATE FEB 2026: Well, I have also experienced melting on the pads of one of these grippers. I was using it on an extremely hot pan that was coming out of my oven and they melted a little bit on the end. I think that these are safest to use for things that have been microwaved. I will agree with the poster below that I am starting to not trust them as much and I use them mostly to get things out far enough that I can slide a pot holder or something underneath them for extra support. However, they aren't expensive. I got two of them for a pretty cheap price so if they only last a year I'll be a little disappointed but it's not like I'm out a lot of money. I think if they fixed this design to where the grippers were more of a silicone based product and didn't have the potential to melt on very high temperature pans they would have something they could easily charge quite a bit more for, because it wouldn't melt! I still like these, I think they work great but I do think you need to be careful about using them on extremely hot pans coming out of your oven. I think even once the rubber melts off they could still be used on metal pans but that would be about it. I'm keeping one exclusively to use on microwave items and it is not melted at all. These little boogers work great! I was afraid they would be slippery and I would lose pans, but you just hold on tightly and you can pick up fairly hefty trays with them. I wouldn't try them on cast iron or anything, but I have picked up decent sized cookie sheets with that any issue. Very easy to use, simple to wash off, comfortable to hold in your hand, and very effective at keeping you from burning your fingers. I think they were a great price, a good deal, I would recommend them and would buy them again.

These little tools are wonderful. Bought them thinking I'd try them and was very surprised at how effectively they hold a hot dish.

Bought these 11/24. They were great tools up until just now. The rubber pads that actually grip onto the dish to lift it out have Melted. And the dish nearly slipped and dropped. Yes, it almost slipped out of the grip. What a mess it would have left. So I’ve had use of these from 11/24 till now, today 3/22/26 and now o have to buy new ones. I learned from this, buy something that does not merely have rubber pads glued on to do the lifting. I’ll add a picture later.

These work great when you want to take something out of the microwave and the bowl is hot from the food. Perfectly useful. Didn't need two, so I gave one to my neighbor!

Useful for pulling the pot out from inside my pressure cooker they made a difficult job much easier, they seem to grip quite well, we had to use one either side as the pot was heavy
