Great Product
Received a walking book from the PCP's office - it failed to maintain air within 24 hours. Ordered this United Ortho boot which arrived in about 24 hours (had crutches and really not out of the chair until it arrived) and it works great - comfortable, durable, reliable. Did I mention the United Ortho boot was less than half the cost compared to what was paid to the healthcare system ($187) even having a premium insurance plan ($2100 per month)? Prediction, United Ortho boot will outlast the healthcare system...

The best ortho boot
I have a high deductible insurance and my orthopedic doctor said that they would have to charge me $800 for an ortho boot and recommended that I buy one from the local pharmacy or Amazon. I found that hard to believe but I visited the pharmacy anyway. They did not have my size. and I tried on several at at the pharmacy. I decided to try amazon. I purchased 4 from Amazon because I didn't know what expect. I returned the other 3 styles. I wear a size 8 1/2 USA women's shoe. I bought this boot in size medium. It worked perfectly. It came with 4 extra pads which I used to make boot fit more snugly at the ankle and to pad on right side of boot where air hoses could be felt when boot was tight. I always wore a clean ankle high sock with this boot. I adjusted to the boot the fit snugly and then pumped up the air to fill in around foot and ankle area. It was very comfortable. I have large calves and it still fit fine. The first time that you wear it, you will need to take the front off and then replace it so that you have good alignment. It has strong velcro. I rarely had to take it all apart again. The velcro all held up well. The foam held up well in the liner. The plastic shell held up just fine. It was not brittle. It did not crack or come apart in my 10 weeks of wearing it. I called the company selling this boot before I purchased it to make sure they were a real company. A real person from the USA answered the phone and was very nice. Forego getting an overpriced boot from your orthopedic and get this brand. It's light, comfortable and durable. I highly recommend. Oh, my condition was a tibial stress fracture.

25 Years Experience
Sometimes you can make lemonade for others out of your lemons. I was an athlete in my younger years and an avid hiker. I played field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, track. I ran everyday for 3-5 miles. I was also a teacher. Genetically I am a white female of Irish ancestry. You get the picture. Bones didn’t hold up to my enthusiasm. About 25 years ago I started having to experience what we have fondly referred to as “Tune Up Surgeries”. Over the years I’ve had about 7. Long story short, I’m used to crutches, CAM Boots, wheelchairs, etc. Shortly after the latest surgery I smacked my nicely healing foot into the toe indent under my kitchen sink cabinet as I was washing dishes. It was in the Boot but exposed at the end. It then got infected. In all these years I’ve never done that. But, now we need a new solution. Needed Amazon quickly. Ordered this Closed Toe Boot. You could manage to get something In between the bottom shoe part and the top cover if you really tried, but most things are kept out. The frame is hard plastic. If you have thick calves it is “very” tight. But, once your in, over time it loosens up. I LOVE this thing. Showed it to my Doctor on the next visit. He was happy with it, too. It will mostly protect the toe area. Certainly much better than your average Boot. And once it loosens up a bit, it is great to wear.

Lighter weight, good air cast
Lighter weight than most. Easy to fit except after 8 weeks it is compacted and a little loose due to muscle loss. Air pillows have started to leak some and I need to repump about 1-2 times a day. I am 5’2” and it is very high up my leg and hits the back of my knee when bent. However still better than others.

Air jail
This provides the needed support. When my best friend hurt her foot we had so many things lined up to do. This allowed her to keep going safely and comfortably. It was easy to get off and on, adjustable to fit any foot as it swells and when the swelling goes down. This will allow you to keep up without the pain!

my 5th boot and this is by far the best to stabilize my fracture, high grade sprain and OCD lesion
I have tried 5 boots. Most of them allowed movement in my ankle regardless of the bladder insert. I finally bought this boot. IT IS AMAZING. My ankle is completely immobilized but I can still walk and do what I need to do in this boot to continue living :) It is pretty light weight considering how sturdy it is. It is also very comfortable. It is well worth the money and was pretty on point compared to what all the other boots costs that I previously purchased.

Look elsewhere
Pros - decent pump, supportive Cons - - messes with gait no matter what shoe you pair with it - uncomfortable - no matter how I adjusted it, part of the padding would hit my fracture (rendering it unwearable) - HEAVY - I bought a different brand and it was at least several lbs lighter. - hard to walk in (uneven, felt like I was dragging a brick

This is the best boot you will get for less than $100
This is hands down the best boot ever. I hated the boot from the docs office. I bought another model from the same company but i needed an inside and outside boot. You will feel better support and no pain from the straps. With other models the straps can cause pain or skin irritation. The shield on this model sits between the straps and the cloth wrapped around your leg. I cannot say enough good things about this specific model.
