The Steam-Boil-Fry Stockpot has an indentation that raises the basket 2.125 inches above the bottom for steaming or boiling. Use the basket to deep fry chicken, fish or hushpuppies; steaming or boiling seafood, clams and vegetables. Bayou Classic makes this stockpot out of commercial grade aluminum that heats contents quickly, is lightweight, but is also incredibly strong. Two heavy-duty riveted handles can be held securely even with mitts. The insert basket, also aluminum, is one of the toughest around, and features large 1/2-inch perforated holes and a swing-style wire handle that stays upright on its own or folds over to the side for storage. A ridge around the inside of the pot keeps the insert suspended about 3/8 inch off the bottom of the pot. The lid is vented to allow excess steam to escape. Bayou Classic cookware is renowned for its versatility.
