If you can tolerate home-spun style and humor, this is a fun read
This is not a novel -- it is a personable, home-spun, account of the surprised and surprising life of a city dweller cast into farm life in order to follow the love of his life. Against that standard, it is quite good.

can’t put it down
This a great book, wish Brad would write additional books of this type. I always felt as if I was part of the family.

My life
A great humorous account of life with a woman who loves animals and the animals she loves. My life revolves around a husband, two rescue dogs, 5 chickens, 13 goats and a jerk rooster. The antics in this book reflect everyday life. Thank you for making it funny.

A fascinating look into an amazing couple who love quirky animals and good kids
An outstanding insight into the lives of an extended family which included friends, relatives, and wonderful animals. The rescued dogs, cats, horses, ponies, and more are an interesting mix, each with appreciated personalities and individual endearing traits which only a life of care and casual observation allows to develop and expand. A page turning delight in an age of electronics and hustle where time to stop and smell the flowers carries its own reward and becomes priceless and memorable. Well worth the time.

A good entertaining read
Loved the farm life and animal stories in a re al place and setting. Love this kind of story. Wishing I was back on the farm, and younger, with more energy. Sigh.

Loved the characters in this book. I totally identified with Nancy, as I used to rescue horses, dogs, etc. She was so blessed to have such a supportive husband. Simply a lovely, humerous, well-written book.

I was engrossed in this book from page 1. As an animal lover it brought a gentle sense of familiarity in its descriptions. The author’s subtle sense of humour and keen observations concerning the family, other people and assorted pets brought a welcome window into what’s still decent and honest in the USA when nowadays so much seems to have deteriorated or be replaced by just the opposite.
